TOXIC STRESSES MAY BECOME A JOYFUL LIGHTNESS OF BEING

As we are living through some troubled times with the predatory behaviors of powerful people, especially the men, I am pausing to reflect on what made them do it. With some of them, we can go back  to childhood and look at how, why and when this behavior became the norm for them. And, then on the other side of the coin, that there are others who have been abused and cannot remember abuses that happened to them.   I am painfully aware of my circumstances of childhood abuses and I continue to recover on the cellular level to go deeper into my tissues of those body memories to heal my wounded self.

It has taken me years to get to this point to acknowledge that I kept things quiet because that was how it was back then with the silence code. Other adults who did not believe some of the shocking stories that I had said happened and the same adults in my life were saying it was your fault it happened and believing them for so many years even when they weren’t saying it out loud. This abuse, when hidden inside of us,  is the biggest reason why there maybe so many mental disorders (with no genetic links thus far), diagnoses of the spectrum of autoimmunity, heart disease and genetic disorders, etc. I can blame my autoimmunity on so many things, but this emotional and physical cross I endured for years until my body decided to express it in the form of psoriasis (autoimmunity develops years before the evidence shows up in diagnoses). You see, the body’s burden will show up in the weakest link of your body, whether it is in the brain or the body.

When I received my diagnosis, I asked the doctor what was the cause of my psoriasis. He said he did not know. At that time, I was irate that all the doctors I saw did not know the cause of my disorder. Now I know some of the why, because it can be that the body could not handle the burden of toxic stress in all areas of my life. I thank the doctors now for not making up any possible reasons for my diagnosis. It helped me to become curious to keep searching for answers within myself.

There is always more to the story of why our body’s become burdened. If we listen to the body whispering and finding out where the energy is blocked, please look inward for the answers. If you’re unable or need more assistance, please contact me, or someone you trust, to explore some aspects of your life that may be holding you back. You will see that  life may get a bit easier and to accept what is present in our lives without the past traumas getting in the way.  Personal responsibility, even if we grew up in a toxic household environment, may possibly be a hard task in the beginning, but it only takes you and time to begin to heal.  Let’s continue the dialogue….

DO PRE WASHED GREENS LOSE VITAMINS?

  • DO PRE WASHED GREENS LOSE VITAMINS?

Are we sacrificing nutrition for convenience when we buy prewashed salad greens?
They’ve become wildly popular in recent years. It’s so easy to open the bag and have greens ready to be tossed into a salad. No more washing. No more drying with paper towels or using “salad spinners.”

They’ve turned healthy food into convenience food.

But it does come with a downside. Studies have found that prewashing and chopping of commercially packaged greens accelerates nutrient loss. The vitamins that are stripped out the fastest are water-soluble ones. They include vitamins B and C, and carotenoids.

The washing causes immediate vitamin C loss. The mechanical chopping of the leaves increases this loss.

Folate (vitamin B9): Ohio State researchers found that washed spinach retained only 53% of its folate (vitamin B9) after eight days.

A recent Norwegian study shows that chopped, washed lettuce loses up to 40% of its folate within just four hours.

Vitamin C: Researchers at the University of Edinburgh revealed that by the time you eat prewashed lettuce, 59% of its vitamin C is lost.

The same study, published in the journal Food Chemistry, found that mature spinach lost 80% of its vitamin C. Baby spinach lost up to 45%.

Carotenoids: The Ohio State study found that prewashed spinach retained only 54% of its carotenoids after eight days.

The University of Edinburgh study found that chopping greens also increased the content of an anti-nutrient called oxalate (oxalic acid). It binds to minerals in the gut and can stop the body from absorbing them. This makes the greens less nutritious.

Prewashed greens are still super-healthy, even with the vitamin loss caused by washing and chopping.

But if you want maximum nutrition go for whole—not chopped—greens. And buy greens that are not prewashed.

If you don’t want to give up the convenience of prewashed, be sure to check the sell-by date on the bag. The fresher the better.

And whether you prewashed or not, go for organic greens. They are higher in nutrition than conventionally grown varieties. And more important, they contain no harmful pesticide residues

One more thing… Farmers markets are a great place to get fresh, organic greens. If possible, buy them the day you are going to eat them.

When I buy from the Supermarket, I try to make sure the veggies are not in plastic either. Try to bag it in paper or bringing your BPA free bags to the store.

THE LATEST ON ALCOHOL USE AND WHETHER IT IS GOOD FOR YOU OR NOT

Paracelsus, in the 1500s, was a philosopher, botanist and scientist. He was the first physician to notice that some diseases have psychological causes. He’s most famous for being the first physician to wonder about the effects of toxins on the body. In that regard, he’s credited as the founder of toxicology. His insight that there’s no such thing as a toxic substance, just toxic doses.

His discovery that any substance in a low enough dose has beneficial effects on the body. Any substance in a high enough dose was toxic to the body. Examples of this can be any substance such as vitamins, heavy metals, pesticides, cyanide, viruses, bacteria, water, whatever. It perplexes many doctors, scientists, and lay people who still view certain substances as inherently toxic while other substances as inherently safe. Paracelsus showed that it’s not the substance of a thing that makes it toxic, it’s the dose. That’s why I want to talk about a legal drug called alcohol.

I drink alcohol. Sometimes I lose count of my allotment when I’m at social functions. I pay for it the next day. However, I know why, and, it is the dosage. I also take precautions before and after to get the alcohol out of my body because it depleted my mineral status. A review article entitled, “Alcohol and endothelial function: a brief review,” points out how important dosage is to the effects of alcohol on the body. The authors state that, “Regular light to moderate alcohol intake appears to confer protection against both coronary artery disease and ischemic stroke. In contrast, heavy alcohol consumption increases the risk of coronary artery disease and the risk of both hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke.”

It looks like the main reason drinking alcohol is healthy is because in the right dose it stimulates nitric oxide formation. Our bodies make nitric oxide from the amino acid arginine in the presence of oxygen and an enzyme called nitric oxide synthase (NOS). Nitric oxide is the primary determinant of how well our circulation works. It increases circulation by opening up (vasodilating) our arteries and small blood vessels. Without enough nitric oxide, the vessels tighten up, and blood flow decreases. Alcohol increases nitric oxide production. There are other foods and supplements that can do this too, but that is another subject.

Alcohol does it by increasing the activity of NOS, the enzyme that forms nitric oxide. It can do it effectively. In the body, nitric oxide is converted to nitrite and nitrate. These substances are good indicators of how much nitric oxide your body is producing. The higher the levels of either nitrite or nitrate, the higher the levels of nitric oxide. One study looked at the effect of three ounces of alcohol spirits in a group of men and women and found that the alcohol doubled their nitrite and nitrate levels over the next 12 hours.

However, this is important to say that DOSE is important. The authors discovered that higher doses have the opposite effect. According to the authors, “It is clear that acute low doses of alcohol increase both the release of nitric oxide and NOS expression, and augment endothelium-mediated vasodilatation (opening blood vessels), whereas higher doses impair endothelial functions (close blood vessels).” High doses are not the only problem. The article goes on to show that not only do high doses not improve nitric oxide production, they actually decrease production. Other clinical studies on the biological effects of alcohol entitled,”Risk of Dementia and alcohol and wine consumption: a review of recent results,” is another study that you may want to read below if you want to learn more about this area and alcohol use.

This study looked at a large population of men and women in Bordeaux, France. The researchers found that people drinking from three to four standard glasses of wine per day were at a 81 percent less likely to get dementia of any type than non-drinkers. And they were 72 percent less likely to get Alzheimer’s. These reductions took into account age, sex, education, occupation, baseline cognitive performances and other possible factors that could have affected the results. It was clear from this study that drinking alcohol had a markedly positive effect when it came to dementia across the board.

Another, called the Rotterdam study, had  much lower amounts of alcohol and had the same protective effect. Drinking one to three drinks per day led to a 42 percent reduction in all forms of dementia, and a 71 percent decrease in vascular dementia. Vascular dementia, (which my mother did not drink alcohol most of her life and had been diagnosed initially, and then Alzheimer’s disease), is caused by decreased circulation to the brain, and is associated with decreased levels of nitric oxide. The authors of the Rotterdam study also noticed that the positive effects of moderate alcohol intake was not affected by different forms of alcohol.  Wine, spirits, beer all had the same effects. In the right alcohol doses, it prevents dementia of all kinds.

With ischemic strokes, the most common causes of serious functional impairment in the U.S. and other developed countries, where the blood supply to the brain is suddenly cut off. Eighty percent of all strokes are ischemic strokes. Several studies of the risk of ischemic strokes and alcohol have shown that heavy drinking increases the risk. However, according to the authors of this study, “Regular light to moderate drinking seemed to be associated with a decreased risk for ischemic stroke.” Protects against strokes and against dementia.

In a huge study published in 2000, the authors wanted to see the connection between alcohol consumption and the risk of coronary artery disease. In this case, the authors looked at all of the population studies that were published from 1966 to 1998 regarding alcohol and coronary artery disease. They found 196 studies, but settled on 28 high quality studies. They found that men and women drinking up to 20 grams (about 3/4 a glass of wine, 3/4 of an ounce of spirits and 3/4 can of beer) a day of alcohol there was a 20 percent decrease in risk for coronary artery disease. When they looked at larger amounts of up to 72 grams per day, the protection from alcohol decreased to only four percent (72 ounces is about 2 1/2 ounces of spirits, 2 1/2 glasses of wine or 2 1/2 cans of beer).

The research is pretty clear that drinking alcohol has a healthy effect on the body. However, overdoing it is detrimental to our bodies. In general, it seems like the best effects happen when drinking one to two glasses of wine or two cans of beer or two ounces of liquor per day. That seems to be the optimal dosage range needed to get enough of an increase in nitric oxide production to have strong clinical effects. If you do insist to drink, and within this range, you may need to support your body, especially the liver, to metabolize the alcohol (acetaldehyde) and a regular exercise program to get rid of the excess sugar (glucose) alcohols in your blood.

MARIJUANA TRIPLES BLOOD PRESSURE RISK

People who smoke marijuana have three times greater risk of dying from hypertension, or high blood pressure, than those who have never used the drug. And the risk grows with every year of use. Now I did say smoking the marijuana. The findings from a study of close to 1,200 people, could have implications in the U.S., as several states have legalized marijuana and others are moving toward it. It is also decriminalized in a number of other countries. I do know, from a different viewpoint too, that it changes the microflora in the gut which can lead to other digestive issues also, like leaky gut.

“It is important to establish whether any health benefits outweigh the potential health, social and economic risks,” said Barbara Yankey, who led the research at the school of public health at Georgia State University in the United States. “If marijuana use is implicated in cardiovascular diseases and deaths, then it rests on the health community and policy makers to protect the public.”

I know I cannot use marijuana because of my current position and responsibility for people’s’ safety. However, I want you to consider the continued research is being done in this area with recreational use of the drug. Just because it is “natural” does not mean to over using the marijuana. There are benefits of THC for those who cannot get relief with terminal health issues. However, please investigate other methods to get the best nutritional ways to better health.

NOT ALL FATS ARE CREATED EQUAL

For many years, especially since the 1950s, our diet has changed. Certain dogma called “fat-phobic” advice has been in the media and even embraced by the American Heart Association for many years. However, when you reduce fat in the diet, and there is a need to make processed food with more sugar to taste good. The last numbers I have heard from the functional medicine standpoint is 145 pounds of sugar per person per year. It might even been higher today.  This is the real culprit of most of our diseases. In this blog, I would like to convey that we need to take the white stuff out of our diet and add back the good fats. Since I have changed my way of feeding my microflora in my gut, I am pleased to say I have lowered my blood sugar twenty-five points! I’ll be ordering my labs for myself called HbA1C in the next couple months.

Not all fats are created equal. Some of the fats I will be writing about today have great potential for promoting health and fighting disease. Others do the exact opposite. Mainstream marketing doesn’t differentiate. The science research is not letting us bury our heads in the low-fat sand any longer.

Incorporating healthy fat with the right combination of amino acids will improve your feeling of fullness and satisfaction, provide body fuel, and promote optimal cellular repair. You cannot make cells without fat. Fats are the precursors of cell messengers that mediate inflammation. Fat is critical for hormone production and for heart, brain and nervous system function.

Some fats will kill you and some will keep you healthy and probably save your life. Below are the eight classes of fats.

Monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) are the healthiest kind of fat you can eat, according to research. Not only are they anti-inflammatory, but they also keep your blood lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides) healthy, help balance your blood sugar, and even help cut visceral fat by up to 20 percent. MUFAs are found in olives and olive oil, nuts and nut oils, and avocados (when I am not traveling, I try to eat a whole avocado everyday).  I even carry macadamia nut oil on my trips because it contains a greater percentage of MUFAs than the highest quality olive oil. It also has a 40 degree higher temperature tolerance before changing its healthy properties than olive oil.

Omega-3 fatty acids are anti-inflammatory polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) and are found in fish oil, cold-water fish, walnuts, flaxseed and chia seeds. They aid in controlling hunger, turning off your fat genes, controlling blood sugar, and upping your metabolism. They have been shown to aid in reducing cholesterol and preventing arthritis, asthma, ADHD, dementia and even depression.

Medium-chain triglycerides are an important fat-burning tool and can help speed up your metabolism. These are found in butter, ghee and coconut oil.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are a group of about eighteen different kinds of fatty acids. Some are healthy (as mentioned in Omega-3s above) and some aren’t (like canola oil I’ll mention below). The good ones can provide the energy producing mitochondria of your cells with fatty acids that support metabolic efficiency.

Trans-fatty acids are the worst fats the world has seen and have been in our food supply for decades even after science discovered they are deadly. Deceptive marketing on our packaging and, in the media, not providing the scientific proof in differentiating the types of fats. They are man-made, our intestinal bacteria cannot digest these foods, so they end up lining our livers and arterial cell walls, causing death and disease. These are also known as partially hydrogenated vegetable oils, and are found in margarine and other butter substitutes. When I travel and my clients, we insist on particular attention to detail to the chefs to make sure we don’t ingest these types of PUFAs oil.

Omega-6 fatty acids are pro-inflammatory and are abundant in processed foods, most cooking oils (including canola mentioned above), and pretty much every food you eat unless it is organic. These are also called PUFAs, but the bad ones. Up to 90 percent of the omega-6 in our diet comes from linoleic acid, which promotes inflammation and fat storage. Some of the foods are grain-based desserts, salad dressings, potato chips, corn chips, pizza, pasta, and popcorn to name a few.

Omega-9 fatty acids are the neutral oils that do not lead to inflammation and are healthy to consume. The biggest sources of these are: olives, macadamia nuts, avocados, almonds, pecans and cashews.

Saturated fats are found primarily in animal products like butter, cheese and meat. Within the last couple years, research in the last couple years is proving that saturated fat is not the problem the mainstream “experts” have made it out to be. The only time saturated fat becomes really dangerous is when it’s combined with sugar and refined flour to produce all those packaged, processed foods you find in the supermarket snack aisle and in fast food restaurants.

As long as you are getting saturated fat from organic, grass-fed, grass-finished, minimally processed sources, it is perfectly okay to eat in moderation. I even order my grass-fed and finished beef and chicken and are delivered to my home. It tastes so much better and I’m not going back. Most of your fat intake should come from the protein and amino acids you eat. The rest will come from nuts, avocado, fish and oils. If you get the majority of your protein from wild, hormone and antibiotic-free animal foods such as eggs, salmon, chicken, grass-finished beef and pasture-raised butter, you will get the essential monounsaturated and saturated fats you need in the right ratios. Also, please do not forget that beef is not just one big saturated fat. About 50 percent of the fat in beef is unsaturated, the kind that we are being told to eat (but not from commercially raised grain fed cows and happy, well-fed cows).

Dairy needs a mention here too. Milk is a saturated fat too. The same rules apply to dairy as well as any protein drinks you may use: the source must be cows, sheep, goats, or yaks that were fed and raised how they were supposed to be raised; without antibiotics and growth hormones. I want to be clear, when I mention dairy, I am talking about cheese or butter. I don’t mention yogurt (even the unsweetened ones) or milk.

When a study was done by a food scientist in Denmark, he analyzed urine and fecal samples from fifteen men whose diets either contained cheese and milk or contained butter with no other dairy products. The findings were those in the cheese group had higher levels of butyric acid, a gut microbe and short chain fatty acids that has been linked to lower obesity and faster metabolism.

A University of Cambridge study raised some very important questions about the link between saturated fats and heart disease. In the meta-analysis of seventy-two different studies, researchers found that total saturated fat consumption was not linked to coronary heart disease.

With this great summation of information, please know there is plethora amount of scientific information that is not getting out there to the mainstream public. I feel privileged to be of service to you to reach out to your family and friends and forward them to start the small changes to be the best person they can be to the world.

REFLECTING ON A MOTHER’s LIFE JOURNEY

Recently, I lost my mother to a wretched disease called Alzheimer’s. Even when she was fully aware of her mind before this, she had too many areas of her life that she buried in shame and a lack of trusting others. She did not know boundaries and accountability in her life to live a wholehearted life. What she did was to pass it onto her children to be accountable to her, and not to ourselves, by her shaming us to protect her dark sides of being. With this lack of understanding of our soul’s innate wholeness, as we grew into adulthood, we lost the ability to love and trusting ourselves fully so we could be fully present for others. Ultimately, we lost in childhood the natural beauty of self we were born with and about sharing with others our feelings of imperfection and hiding our true selves. We are here for a reason. Finding what that is before leaving this world would be a journey inward. It is scary, but worth the time and effort.

Now that my mother is gone, I feel a sense of a loss and freedom too. I feel myself trying to search for others who may want to truly share their true feelings and experiences of their lack of childhood experiences of loving kindness, compassionate understanding and trusting nature of other humans without being manipulated, ridiculed or judged by another. I know deep down there is a place I can call home.

For that to happen, things need to be put in place like nourishing the body and mind with good vitamins and minerals from the earth, deep sleep, etc., and finding the fully present human beings. We all want that. How to get all we want is to have the courage to step out of our negativity of the self-talk of the ego and to step fully into sharing our love and kindness to the world no matter what the other person in your past has said or done to you. Letting go and accepting what is, is the journey of a lifetime.

ALZHEIMER’S AND LOOKING AT BODY BURDEN

As I sit her writing to all of you, my family is watching my mother die of a wretched disease that has eaten away at her mind and body called Alzheimer’s. Many of you may have someone in your family or know of someone who has had or lost someone to this wretched disease.

In my mother’s case, and watching her grapple with diagnosis after diagnosis, she seemed to be in one pain after another in different parts of her body. It was harder each time to console her and to compel her to do something out of the ordinary to help herself outside of the traditional medical system. She could have instead trusted herself to know better of what would be better than drugs or some medical procedure which seemed to exacerbate her painful conditions. Now here we are here with late stage Alzheimer’s and third stage kidney disease.

With all of my Mom’s ailments, starting with high blood pressure, her raised anxiety stress levels over the years, with arteriosclerosis and age 58 heart attack and, before her diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, she had two surgeries of carotid artery scraping, some mini strokes along the way, pre-diabetes, sub-optimal hypothyroidism and finally kidney disease, it is no wonder her body was overburdened with so many systemic inflammation issues. She especially had the increased cascade of cortisol levels never measured, hormonal issues with her HPA axis (hippocampus-pituitary-adrenal glands) with her weakened state of her sub-hypothyroid condition never addressed and toxicity from her environment that I could only guess from dental amalgams (mercury) and other hard metals from the environment. Scientists haven’t proven aluminum as a culprit in the Alzheimer’s, but haven’t ruled it out either.

Familial habit patterns came into play in my family and other families as well. Our food supply does not give us the essential minerals and vitamins in our diet to thwart disease or disorders. These diseases start in us and is not the germs from outside of our body. We need to measure it by different means of how we feel, urine, blood, bowels and saliva tests. Our body robs from itself in different parts of our body during the awake stage (catabolic) of the day of what is stored in our fat and organ tissues. At night, during sleep, is the repair state (anabolic).

If the minerals and vitamins that are needed are similar in its carbon, hydrogen and oxygen molecules, your body will use it to get what it needs. For example, iodine is so needed by the thyroid, breasts and other organs. However, our body cannot store it for very long in the body. On the chemistry element chart, most of us learned in high school, there are other metals that are similar in makeup to iodine; fluorine, chlorine and bromine. When the food industry took out the iodine out of our breads and the common table salt etc., our receptor sites that used to receive the iodine (weakest of all the halides) now our body’s receptor sites attach the fluoride from our toothpaste, water, and dental cleanings, etc., chlorine, that city or town municipalities do to the water to clean out the bacteria, goes to the homes, apartments, hotels, etc., where our bodies absorb it into our tissues through the skin from our showers and pools and drinking (unless we use filters to get rid of the chlorine, fluoride and bromine).

So measuring our body burden through urine, saliva, bowels and blood testing (not always through the medical system, who rely mostly on blood tests [if it gets into the blood, which tries to stay pristine, the weakest link in your body will start a cascade of inflammatory responses that may overburden the liver, intestines and kidneys and may not know how to rid your body of those foreign invaders without some form of natural detoxing]). So working with a knowledgeable individual to reduce your body’s toxic burden is imperative so as to not finding yourself one day with so many painful systemic ailments and you asking, “How did this happen to me?”

My mother cannot be helped with her Alzheimer’s (drugs don’t work in this disease) because there are multiple reasons for this brain inflammation. Getting the right balance of vitamins, minerals, and reducing toxic burden from the environment, will help prevent the ravages of inflammation and then losing the mind becomes a distant memory throughout the many stages of lifestyle changes. It starts with you by learning about yourself and your body burden. I can assist you in reducing the inflammation one step at a time.

PULSED ELECTROMAGNETIC FREQUENCY (PEMF)-THE BODY BATTERY RECHARGER

Health is an energy dance, the more you have, the better you’ll feel, providing the energy is harmonious and beneficial to the body. The health of your body is dependent upon the health of your cells, as all your organs and tissues are composed of them. Our 100 trillion cells intelligently communicate with each other at faster than light speeds creating some 400 billion reactions every second involving over 100,000 biomolecules. Newtonian-based physics and biology are left speechless attempting to explain this complexity. This intelligence residing in the body knows how to heal itself; it only requires the essential elements food, water, sunlight, oxygen, as well as sleep, exercise and the earth’s PEMF.

At an energetic level, our cells act as wet battery-driven miniature pumps, which require food for fuel, oxygen for combustion; and ignition, a catalyst to drive the process. This spark is enhanced by the earth’s geomagnetic and Schumann energy field, but it can also come from PEMF therapy devices that are in alignment with what the earth provides. The human body, as well as the universe, is primarily a holographic field of energy, information and consciousness and secondarily physical and material. The energy field of your body extends outwards up to 15 feet (measurable by science) and operates primarily at frequencies matching the earth (0-30 HZ).

Through circulation, electric and magnetic currents and intelligent communication, these essential elements are delivered to each of our 100 trillion cells. These cellular pumps allow the good stuff to enter the cells needed for energy production (oxygen, and about 90 substances, like enzymes, glucose and nutrients), while removing waste products in the lymphatic system that arise from metabolism, infection and toxicity (CO2, heavy metals, and other waste products). The pumps require energy, namely ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and TMP or transmembrane potential. These are the two primary ways the body stores energy at the cellular level. The TMP is the voltage across the cell membrane and ATP is the main form of energy the cells use, like a rechargeable battery. Not only do earth-based energies dynamically ignite cellular metabolism, they also recharge the cell membrane (TMP) and ATP. Healing is a matter of charging up our cells to their optimal voltage. Using earth-inspired PEMF therapy is like hooking up our 100 trillion cells to microscopic jumper cables, giving them a full charge. PEMF therapy literally jump starts the healing process in the body at the cellular level.

After seven years of my nutritional therapies of food and supplementation, I had been using a PEMF therapy for over a year, I have seen such a difference in my energy levels and clearing up of my skin condition and, in addition, my nerve pain diminished  too. What was missing from my healing was the battery charging from the earth (PEMF device). I can say this because I could not clear up the red spots under the skin on my lower legs and I had peripheral neuropathy issues (tingling and numbness) in my hands and feet most likely from the autoimmunity issues.

When you live in a metal tube high above the earth (airplane), live half your life in hotels (high rise hotels with the legs on the beds), walking around with rubber soled shoes in airports and terminals, and driving a car with rubber tires in traffic, I was not getting the earth’s 0-30 HZ frequencies to heal my body down to the microcirculation levels (capillaries). Using earth-inspired PEMF therapy is like hooking up our 100 trillion cells to microscopic jumper cables by giving them a full charge.

In energy medicine, each cell is designed to run at a specific voltage, creating high-energy electrons available to do work. There are seven cellular benefits of the Earth’s PEMFs. Recharging the Trans-Membrane Potential or TMP, increases ATP production in the mitochondria, enhances the sodium-potassium pump (important with 3 Na+ (Sodium going out of the cell) and 2K-(Potassium going into the cell), increases the cellular pH (potential hydrogen) to make the cells and body more alkaline, improves oxygen uptake and assimilation into the cells, lowers blood viscosity and improves circulation and microcirculation, and creates a healthy level of electroporation (openings in the cells for improved nutrient transport and elimination).

Nobel Prize winner Dr. Albert Szent-Gyorgi proposed that the proteings within the cell membrane can act as solid-state rectifiers, capable of capturing the energy of the earth’s alternating electromagnetic field (a rectifier converts AC or the alternating current into DC or direct current). (1) Even the biomagnetite, mainly found in the Pineal Gland and on cell membranes, can convert the electromagnetic energy from the earth into other forms of energy in the body, such as assisting the sodium-potassium pump. This helps to boost the cellular voltage or TMP.

According to Nobel Prize Laureate, Dr. Otto Warburg, cells maintain a voltage across their membrane, which is analogous to the voltage of a battery. He found that healthy cells have a measurable voltage from 70-100 millivolts, with the heart cells having the highest (upwards to 90-100 millivolts). Dr. Warburg found that due to the constant stress of modern life with a toxic environment and the aging process, cellular voltage drops. People with chronic illnesses and chronic fatigue unilaterally had a diminished cellular voltage (30-50 millivolts). Cancer patients displayed the lowest voltage at less than 15-20 millivolts. (2) Ever wonder why there is no heart cancer? It’s because the heart cells have the highest voltage of any cells in the body.

The connection between cellular voltage & Health (or Disease )

Health is literally an energy game at the cell-ular level! There truly are no exceptions to this rule; if your cells have energy, you are healthy, if not, you get sick. If we can keep our cellular voltage charged in the healthy range, we can radically extend our lifespan. This is why PEMF therapy devices are one of the most powerful and effective anti-aging tools available today!

KNOWING YOUR EMOTIONAL ENERGY TYPE AND HEALING THE BODY

Carl Jung observed that man “can make no progress with himself unless he becomes much better acquainted with his own nature.”(1)

By understanding your own style of feeling, you can speed the appropriate form of healing for you. In this day and age, when information is a mere mouse click away, we have little excuse to simply turn ourselves over to the experts. Especially when we have reason to doubt the efficacy of the conventional medical wisdom. Trying to find the source of your symptoms of your emotional type, you will gain a valuable new framework to augment your health care decisions. Your individuality will be front and center as you gather insight into the ways your personality and your health interact. That’s why I have structured my practice with health and lifestyle patterns during sessions. Our head and heart are one system and not separated in a body of parts.

What needs to be acknowledged and overlooked by many, including myself years back, is the fact that our feelings have a story to tell. They alert us to what is going on inside of us, and they draw attention to our reactions to certain events. If we were part of a series of events, whether it was a tree that fell on us, or we saw a tree fall onto someone else in close proximity, or we never heard about it, we will sense the feelings of the event when we are the victim or seen the victim get hurt. Or not at all as in the last event.   Every feeling has a story to tell.

From simple to complex narratives, mostly the complex side, are the feelings associated with illness. Not just the feelings, but often the resulting symptoms as well. Symptoms are signposts if deciphered correctly, it will tell us something about the personality experiencing them. Did you think who you are is entirely separate from what you are feeling and what you’re going through? Far from it. No one else has your symptoms, your pains and ills. It’s your body and your self. Friedrich Nietzsche stated “There is more reason in your body than in your best wisdom.”

In the West, modern medicine has conquered diseases that ravaged previous generations like polio, tuberculosis, syphilis, and typhoid fever. Today we are beset by maladies that seem to reflect the prevalence of toxins in our environment and an overload of stress in our lives (such as cancer and heart disease). Modern medicine seems incapable of defeating these ills. Furthermore, people are becoming affected by disorders that were noticed in earlier times but largely ignored in the twentieth century: chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, and post-traumatic disorder. The word syndrome indicates that, while the symptoms of a given condition are evident, the cause or connection between them isn’t understood. Then, the condition cannot be well treated. More and more of us are also made ill by asthma and allergies, while depression casts an ever longer, worrisome shadow.

No, you are not your chronic illness. But it does have personal meaning for you. By understanding your meaning, you have to look at your emotional type. It is intended to capture the way different people feel their feelings (or don’t). It relates to the brain; it relates to the rest of the body; it relates to your genetic inheritance; and it relates to the way you were raised. Your emotional type indicates how likely you are to be affected by certain chronic conditions. It is biologically based gauge of personality.

Significant illness magnified my life. It forced me to confront aspects of myself that I did not see for years. When I was in the throes of the pain, fatigue, and mild depression from my autoimmune disorder with my severe skin condition (psoriasis), I did not have much insight into the root cause of my disorder. As the Chinese understood in the venerable I Ching that “through introspection….external obstacles become an occasion for inner enrichment and education.” (2)

Personality cannot be reduced to feelings alone. According to a leading personality theorist, Robert Cloninger of Washington University, emotional drives constitute four of seven proposed dimensions of personality. The four are novelty seeking, harm avoidance, reward dependence and persistence. Together, they make up what Cloninger calls “temperament.” The other three dimensions (self-directedness, cooperativeness, and self-transcendance) relate more to the conscious abilities and predilections than feelings; these he terms “character.” In Cloninger’s well-considered framework, character plus temperament add up to personality. (3) Feelings can be seen as a foundation of personality, a driver, but not the entirety in any sense.

Tufts University professor Ernest Hartmann developed a “boundary concept” to explain differences in personality type. He found that people have differing levels of boundaries, ranging from thick to thin. Thin-boundary people tend to be more artistic, more connected to their dreams and more likely to see themselves merging in their relationships with others. Thick boundary people see clear divides between themselves and others and tend to see the world in black and white.

People with thin boundaries are more susceptible to numerous illnesses with mind-body components like Irritable Bowel Syndrome. These illnesses have a common denominator of low serotonin levels. It is a key neurotransmitter found in the brain. However, 95 percent is found in the neuroendocrine tissue of the gut. Ever wonder why we have “gut feelings,” and feel like we’ve been “punched in the gut” when we get bad news. When the syndrome becomes a disease like irritable bowel disease (IBD) called Crohn’s, treatment is a lifelong process. For many sufferers, conventional treatments offer little relief.

Experts recommend complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) approaches, even beyond the mind-body disorder of IBS, as a powerful treatment for IBD. The first goal is to treat the underlying imbalance that has caused a problem, so you can allow the body to heal itself. The second goal is to provide symptom relief in the meantime. CAM therapies are safe and unlikely to interfere with your conventional medical treatment. Also, they can actually help you to replace essential vitamins and mineral your body is losing because of the disease.

For bowel disorders, here are the most effective mind-body remedies:

Acupuncture-One study found that quality of life for Crohn’s patients improved significantly after treatments.

Mind/Body Techniques-meditation, guided relaxation, yoga, tai chi do not treat Crohn’s directly, but they do reduce stress and stress is known to trigger flare-ups and worsen symptoms.

Even in some of my clients’ cases and my case, I used acupuncture. Learning meditation, guided relaxation, massage and using the BEMER frequency machine daily has made a world of difference with my skin, stress and endocrine system recovery.

For example, you can find a mind-body therapy that is most effective for your type. Hypnosis is perfectly suited for thin boundaries, as is, biofeedback. And acupuncture can be a great way to assist thin and thick boundary individuals. Finding out your thick or thin boundary levels is clearly a critical part of what you can do to best treating a mind-body therapy that is most effective for your emotional energy type.
